My Favorite Thing About Christmas

And just like that, Christmas is over! I’m always amazed at how quickly the holiday flies by. My holiday weekend was wonderful and included lots of quality time with family and friends.

Last Friday, I did a secret santa gift exchange with a few of my closest girlfriends from high school. I love how we are always able to pick up right where we left off. I’m also super excited because one of them is moving back to DC.

On Christmas Eve, Will and I joined my family for our annual candlelight church service and dinner in DC. One of my favorite parts of Christmas Eve is singing Silent Night with a chapel full of candles and the lights dimmed. It’s just so peaceful and you can feel the happiness in the air.

Christmas Day began with stockings and presents with my family and our dogs in their Christmas PJs, of course! Then, we all gathered in the kitchen to cook a hearty brunch. After we ate, Will and I headed down to see his family in Richmond. We enjoyed an early dinner and presents exchange down there before coming back up to DC for the night. Will and I ended Christmas with exchanging our presents to each other. It was an action-packed day and I was very tired and the end, but it was SO lovely to have a day full of time with loved ones. That will always be my favorite thing about Christmas. It’s the things you can’t possibly put into words and the people who mean so much to me.

I’d love to hear how your Christmas was if you celebrated it or if you did something fun for the holiday weekend.

Cheers!

Sarah Camille
