Happy Wednesday friends! Working out is one of my favorite things. Some people might give me weird looks for saying that, but it is truly the outlet that gives me energy and keeps me sane. So I would like to share with you all my workout philosophy and style.
Before we dive in let me first acknowledge, that I have days when I don’t feel like working out. After a super long work day or when I have gotten out of my normal routine, it can be hard to make time for your workout routine.
But regardless, working out is a valuable way for me to sweat out my stress, contemplate what is important to me, find more confidence and re-focus on my goals. I totally agree with people when they say their workout is like free therapy! Working out has gotten me through some tough times, when I felt defeated and my confidence was low. For me, putting energy into creating a physically stronger body has given me a stronger mind.
It took me a solid year to get into the workout routine I’m in now; and it is constantly evolving to keep things interesting. I have been active my whole life, but I definitely had to adjust my workout routine when I started working and when I was working full-time and in graduate school part-time. Currently, I run 60+ miles a month and workout an average of five times a week.
I will share more about my workout routine next week. Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite, frequently worn workout gear.
These items are great if you enjoy running, going to HIIT classes and lifting weights, like me. There are some more flows workout clothes in style, but for me, I feel like flowy shirts get in my way. That style is more suited for you if your workouts entail more slow-paced workouts like pilates and yoga.
At any rate, I have enjoyed all of these items. The Old Navy and Z by Zella tanks are a great value. They have held up quite well. I like to invest more money in my leggings because I have longer hips and legs than the average person, so cheaper leggings tend to cut into my hips or slide off while I run.
So, what is your workout for philosophy? What types of workouts and workout clothes do you most enjoy? Please share and stay tuned for more on my workout routine and classes that I take.
