My Easy & Natural Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello friends! I know it’s been a little while, but I have good news — it is confession time! Today I am sharing the products and details behind my easy, natural everyday makeup routine. These are the products I have emptied, used for years, and continue to go through super quickly. For me putting on makeup is an important part of my self-care, but on a typical day I like to opt for a pretty natural look that takes less than 10 minutes tops.

In order to show you the full impact of my everyday makeup routine, I feel like it is necessary to show you guys what I look like without any makeup.

So, here is my au-natural face.

Now, here are the products behind my everyday makeup routine!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Oil Free

• Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – Oil Free, Nude

• Cargo HD Picture Perfect Bronzing Powder

• Laura Mercier Eyelid Primer, Flax

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara

Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss, Flower Child

Before applying any makeup, I always wash my face and moisturize (I’ll save my morning skincare/pre-makeup  routine for another post!). Then, the first thing I apply is primer. I love how light this primer is and it really helps my tinted moisturizer go on easily and evenly. Both the Laura Mercier primer and tinted moisturizer last about 9 months for me because a pea-sized amount of product is all you need.

I love that this tinted moisturizer cancels out any redness and evens out my skin tone, while still letting my freckles peek through. With a beauty blender, I place an extra dab of tinted moisturizer under my eyes instead of fooling with a concealer. This method makes the skin a little brighter without feeling heavy or getting cake-y. I think it looks pretty natural!

To give my face a little color and dimension, I brush the CARGO bronzing powder just below my cheeks and sweep it up around my temples and the corners of my forehead. A little bit of this bronzer goes a long way, and it is great for anyone with a fair to medium complexion.

The eyelid primer I use acts like a concealer for the skin above your eyes, and it’s seriously one of my all-time favorite makeup products. You can use it on its own, like I do most days, or use it as a priming base for eyeshadow to go on smoothly. My eyelid skin tends to get a little red, so I love using this primer to conceal it. The flax shade perfectly counteracts any redness.

If I had to pick a single makeup product to live with for the rest of my life, I would pick mascara. I have blonde eyelashes, so I have always felt like mascara totally transforms my face. As a self-proclaimed mascara junkie, I have tried a wide-range of mascaras. But the L’Oreal voluminous waterproof mascara is the one I always go back to for my everyday makeup routine. I love how sturdy the wand is, and the mascara has the right balance of lengthening and thickening power. It never clumps! Some days I use eyeliner to give my eyes an extra pop, too.

Lip gloss is always the final touch to apply as I am walking out the door (or when I’m sitting in that good ‘ole DC traffic!). Lorac’s Alter Ego lip glosses have a really nice texture, and most importantly they aren’t sticky. The amount of pigment is also just right. I have been loving the flower child shade, as it gives a nice punch of color to my otherwise neutral everyday makeup look.

So there you have it. Overall, I think my (not exactly) everyday makeup routine is pretty quick, easy and natural looking. For a regular day, I like a makeup routine that leaves me feeling like an enhanced version of myself. But, I would love to hear what your everyday makeup routine entails.

Do you have a natural, everyday makeup routine? How often do you wear makeup? Are you a tinted moisturizer girl like me or do you prefer a more full-coverage makeup look? I am curious if you consider applying makeup as part of your self-care routine as well. Share your thoughts in the comments so we can chat.

Cheers!

Ah it looks so beautiful! I usually take so long because while I do simple eyeliner, my hands are very shaky! My looks are usually quite natural but with a more bronze-y eyeshadow.

  2. Flossie says:

You look beautiful both with and without the makeup! Honestly, unless it’s a special occasion, the only makeup I wear is lip color if I’m going out of the house.

  3. Shan Walker (@shanGURUwalker) says:

First off, your “before” shot is beautiful. I love the freckles and thought you were gorgeous to start. To me, the makeup simply makes your eyes shine even brighter and stand out. Love it. I am amazed at how fast I can put on my makeup these days. I love all the details about what you used!

  4. Angela Tolsma says:

I love your routine! I also would pick mascara if I had to choose just one for life, it’s my go to no matter what!

  5. Michelle Catallo says:

The products you chose, you chose well! Keeps your face looking natural and glowingly beautiful still hun. If I wear any makeup, it’s just eye shadow normally; I’ve been on a sans anything for a few weeks now.

  6. Stephanie says:

10 minutes or less is my kind of routine, too! And I have a hard time deciding between mascara or eye liner as my only one if I had to choose. I have blonde eyelashes too (yay for natural blondes!) but the eye liner makes my eyes really pop. Either way, this natural look is gorgeous and just the right amount!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
