It is happening. I’ve put up so many Christmas decorations in our house this week. I never thought I’d be one of those people who did such a thing before Thanksgiving. But, with this year being what it’s been, I felt like our home could use some extra days of holiday cheer. It’s the little things like this that have kept me going during this pandemic. So it’s no surprise I’ve really enjoyed picking out some affordable holiday decor.

Since this will be our first Christmas in our new home, I was not totally sure what would work for decorations around our fireplace. I’ve picked out a few new decorations to mix with what we already have. I figure this way I can see what I like and build on that in years to come. There were several things I found at great price points. Some things I got and ended up deciding against for our home and somethings I kept. It’s been a really fun process. To figure out what I liked and what would work best without costing an arm and a leg, I did a lot of searching for affordable home decor. I know many of y’all are doing the same thing right now and it would be a shame for all that research to go to waste haha, so here’s a roundup of the best things I found.

Here’s a look at our holiday decor …

If you need some holiday decorating inspiration, here’s a few pics of our home right now. It’s still a work in progress, as I’m also waiting on a couple more things to pull together our fireplace. Like I said, our decorations are a mix of old and new things, but I’m really happy with the news things I found this season, like the white ceramic houses and the “fa la la” throw pillow! The nutcrackers are from Will’s grandparents and my stocking was needlepointed by my grandmother.

I’m sure I’ll keep updating this space in the next week or so. We’ve been debating where our real Christmas tree should go and one option is to put it where our small pre-lit tree is currently.
