48 Simple Self Care Ideas to Try This Fall

Hi friends! I don’t know about you but so many of the world’s current events have left me feeling more drained and stressed than usual. It’s hard to believe and really wrap my head around how much life as we know it has changed because of the pandemic. And, it’s mind boggling that eighteen months into this there is still so much uncertainty. UGH. But today, I don’t want to focus on the things that are largely out of our control. I want to share some self care ideas with you all and talk about the importance of scheduling in and planning for some self care each week.

Cozy matching pajama set from Target - Simple Self Care Ideas to Try This Fall

The list of self care ideas for fall that I share below is just meant to give you some inspiration for taking care of yourself this fall. Personally, this summer I got in a bit of a rut with my self care practices. I still enjoy running, listening to podcasts and doing my nighttime skincare routine, but it just felt like the same old, same old on repeat. I have been thinking a lot about adding in some new forms of self care, and the list below is the result of my brainstorming.

Outfit Scoop: This cozy matching set is a recent Target find that’s perfect for fall! It comes in stripes and other colors. I got my normal size in the top and shorts, and it’s only $35 for the two pieces. There are also joggers and wide leg pants available in the same super soft material! Also, my memory foam bunny slippers are on sale for $10 right now! They have a thick sole to them and mine have held up very well for being over a year old.

My Self Care Plan for this Fall

The first self care idea I shared is one that I plan to get back to this fall. Last year, when I was waiting on Liam’s arrival and when he was a newborn, almost every morning I would go outside with my hot cup of coffee, listen to the birds sing and watch the leaves fall. The crisp cool air felt amazing and it was such a calming way to start the day. Mornings now are more stressful, trying to get out the door for daycare, but I’m hoping to carve some time out to do this once or twice a week.

In addition to that, I’m going to pick a few more self care ideas from the list I created. It’s probably not surprising, but I haven’t decided yet which ones I want to do!

I know the idea of self care is a little different for everyone, but ultimately I think it is the act of doing something good for yourself. If you want to do something new for yourself or do something for yourself that you haven’t done in a long time, I really encourage you to choose something this fall. Add it to your calendar and do what you need to do to schedule self care into your life. It may seem silly, but these days self care makes such a difference in my mindset. It is important. Scheduling self care or adding self care to your to do list is an act of self care in itself. After all, it is an acknowledgment that caring for yourself matters. I hope you all remember that this fall.

If you have other self care ideas for this fall, I would love to hear all about them.

Cheers!
