Sarah Camille’s Seasoned Crackers Recipe

Hi friends! Today I am sharing my favorite seasoned crackers recipe. It is perfect for the holiday season, and something I love to make every Christmas. It is my favorite for a few reasons. First, it is my grandmother’s recipe. Second, these crackers always put a smile on peoples’ faces. Third, I get TONS of compliments on how delicious (and addictive!) they are. Lastly, they are super easy to make.

Now, let’s dig in! These seasoned crackers also make a perfect gift for your neighbor, a party host, coworkers, your child’s teacher or even as a little personal touch to add to another gift. To eat, these are great with soup. But my favorite way to eat them is plain, and by the handful!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/5 packages of Nabisco oyster crackers
  • 3/4 C Wesson Vegetable Oil
  • 1 packs of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. dill
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 250° F and put all ingredients in your baking pan (pictured above).
  2. Mix ingredients together in pan until they are fully incorporated.
  3. Bake crackers for 15-20 minutes and mix them again. Repeat this step three times, so that the crackers bake for 45-60 minutes total.

Typically, I buy three bags of oyster crackers and double the recipe using two pans in the oven. This recipe is also an easy one for kids to make with if you have helper bees in your home. You can also play around with the amount of seasoning, if you prefer one flavor over another.

For gift giving, I like to put these in metal tins with wax paper or in a plastic bag with a holiday print on it. You can also use holiday tupperware. Just add a ribbon and a handwritten note and you’re done! Here is an example of cellophane bags I have used before. I got the metal tins pictured below from my local Michaels for just a few dollars, but I cannot find them online.

I would love to know if you like to make something similar as a holiday gift as well. Do you have a similar seasoned crackers recipe? Have you ever been given a snack like this? Personally, I think food is always a great gift idea for families and friends. Plus, I have seen this recipe enjoyed by a wide range of ages and different levels of sophisticated palates.

Please let me know how you like this recipe if you give it a try.

Cheers and happy holidays!

Inside the FabFitFun Winter Box

Hi Friends! I hope your week is off to a good start. It’s been cold and dreary in DC so I’m trying not to let that keep me from staying motivated. Anyway, at the end of last week, a package arrived at my door that I was so happy to see — it was the winter box from FabFitFun.

I have heard some good things about FabFitFun and all the products you can get in their seasonal boxes. So a couple months ago I decided to order a winter box for myself, as an early Christmas present. I had a 10% off code from their website as well, so I figured it was worth it to see what all the hype was about. Here’s what was inside my box:

  1. Candle in Bergamot Woods by D.L. & CO , $45
  2. Kiernan Double Pendant Necklace by Gorjana, $75
  3. Thank You Cards by Marie Mae Company , $24
  4. 2017 Weekly Planner by Moleskin, $21
  5. Iconoclast Mega Volume Mascara by Butter London, $20
  6. Mineral Peel Face by O.R.G. Skincare, $44
  7. Beach Butter Body Cream in Winter in Manhattan Beach by Anderson Lilley, $24
  8. Star Pin – This is a bonus item in honor of their partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization on a mission to brighten the days of seriously ill children.

One particular thing I like about the winter box I got is that it had items that I typically would never get myself.. like a $45 candle! It feels special to get a package of high-end items like these in a package just for you.

I was also originally skeptical about how many items in the box I would end up using, but I am very confident that I will use all of these things. They are all quite practical and the one fashion related thing – the Gorjana necklace – is totally my style. Of course I’ll keep you updated with a review of the beauty products too!

All in all it was amazing to see what all I got for just $45 (the price of just the D.L. & Co candle!) and also discover some new products and companies. According to FabFitFun, the retail value of this box is $253. So, I’d say that it’s definitely a great value.

A FabFitFun box would also make a great gift for someone special in your life. Or you can follow in my footsteps and indulge yourself in one! The other great thing about FabFitFun worth mentioning is that there is no subscription fee or process. You can simply buy one box and be done. There are also different types of boxes and add-ons that are worth checking out on their website because those might be more your style.

I’d love to know if you have gotten a FabFitFun box before and what you think about them. Did you have a favorite product? As of now, I think my favorite thing in the winter box I received is the Gorjana necklace.

Cheers!

15 Holiday Gifts from $11 to $50

Happy Monday friends!

I know there are a lot of gift guides and lists floating around the internet, but I often feel like those lists are out of my price range. Is it just me?! Personally, I think it is much easier to find a gift I’m proud of when I feel like the sky is the limit. But, when I’m trying to stay within a certain price range, especially when picking out gifts for friends, coworkers or a Secret Santa, it can be hard to find a gift that is thoughtful, unique AND in your budget. So, I’ve decided to share some gift ideas that won’t break your bank.

  1. Tinder Nightmares, $11
  2. Cateye Tortoiseshell Sunglasses, $12
  3. Geometric Frame, $13
  4. Plaid Scarf, $20
  5. Tile Mate, $25
  6. Drop Earrings, $25
  7. Saddle Handbag, $27
  8. Faux Fur Blanket, $28
  9. Smokey Layered Tassel Necklace, $30
  10. Wood Salad Bowl, $30
  11. Yoga Mat Tote Bag, $30
  12. Totes Awesome Reversible Bag, $32
  13. Cozy Sweater, $45
  14. TOMS Slippers, $49
  15. Leather iPhone Case, $50

You will probably notice that a lot of these items are already on sale, which is always a plus for me when picking out gifts. I’d just double check that the websites selling these items don’t have new promotions or discount codes to use. This time of year promotions can change every 24 hours for stores.

If you are looking for an extra-special gift for someone who has a lot of things already, tickets for an activity with a loved one like a concert, football game or cooking class can be a fun and different gift. Making or baking gifts is also an easy way to stay in budget as well. I’d love to hear if you have any go-to affordable gifts or if you end up getting any of the gifts on my list.

Good luck with all the holiday shopping. Cheers!
