You can’t go wrong this summer with floral tops and flowy skirts. Personally, I like to pair an edgier studded sandal with feminine clothes. It creates a unique contrast. Eyelet, off-the-shoulder tops, stripes and embroidery are also major trends for this year.

Do you have similar items in your wardrobe for this summer? Jean jackets and maxi dresses are a couple of my favorite summer staples. I also LOVE Target’s sandal selection for this summer. There are some great options if you haven’t checked it out yet.

Of course there’s one category for your summer wardrobe that’s missing from this list and that is swimwear. I’m working on a roundup for all the things you need for the pool or beah, so stay tuned.

Cheers!

Inside FabFitFun’s Spring Box

img_4012

Spring has finally sprung! In good timing, my FabFitFun spring box arrived on Saturday. It includes some great products that I’m super excited to try out, and I figure you may be curious to see what was inside.

If you’re unfamiliar with FabFitFun, it’s a subscription box that delivers products to your doorstep each season of the year. The products are trendy and well-timed. You can get more of my thoughts on the program in my initial FabFitFun review.

Here is a look at what was inside my spring box.

  1. Emerald Duv “Joshua Tree” Cage Bracelet ($80)
  2. Karuna Hydrating+ Face Mask ($24)
    • I’m hoping this helps refresh my dry face after the harsh, cold winter air took a beating on me!
  3. Milly Zip Pouch (different color; $45)
    • This waterproof pouch is perfect for putting your wet bathing suit in or anything you want to keep dry.
  4. Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator ($79)
  5. Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray ($20)
  6. Gypsy 05 Roundie ($50)
    • I’m looking forward to using this at the beach or for a picnic.
  7. Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Blue Orchid and Like a Virgin ($19)
    • These colors couldn’t be more perfect for spring and summer!
  8. RealHer Lip Kit in Deep Red ($48)

It amazes me that the total value of my box was $369. FabFitFun really gives you some great deals. I also just love having things picked out for me that I noramlly wouldn’t spend money on or products from brands I wouldn’t otherwise know about.

Click here to receive $10 off your first FabFitFun box!

Have you ever used any of these items? Are you a FabFitFun subscriber? I’d love to hear your thoughts on subscription boxes like this one.

Cheers!

Four Spring Fashion Trends

Spring
The official start of spring – March 20 – is less than two weeks away, and the spring-like weather is making an appearance. Though I’m a little upset DC did not get the big snow day I was crossing my fingers for, I am so ready for warmer weather and more time in the sun.
There are a few trends that are getting a lot of attention for the spring season. So, I wanted to share with you four top trends and a few of my favorite pieces for each of these trends.

Peep Toe Booties

Floral Prints

Knox Rose Floral Blouse with Tassel Tie Back, $28 | Merona Floral Pleat Front Top, $18 | Sun & Shadow Print Smocked Skirt, $45 | Venus Floral Surplice Top, $29

Showing Off the Shoulder

Lush Surplice Cold Shoulder Blouse, $45 | BP Off the Shoulder Top, $25 | BP Off the Shoulder Tunic, $45 | Ella Moss Cold Shoulder Top, $148

Stripes

Free People Upstate Stripe Tee, $68 | Mossimo Striped Tank, $17 | Anthropologie Fiesta Striped Skirt, $138 | Anthropologie Sullivan Stripe Top, $78

I’m also seeing a lot of ruffles, flared jeans and embroidery in spring collections. Yellow will be a popular color as well as the continued focus on pastels and neutrals. If you are looking for some pieces to aid your transition into the spring season, see what a few of my favorite neutral accessories are for changing seasons.

Is one of my top four trends your favorite? Or do you have another trend you are excited about for this spring season? I’d love to hear about it.

Cheers and thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!
