14 Summer Style Must-Haves

Summertime is kicking off and we have three months of fun in the sun awaiting us! At the start of each new season, I love to share the new and old pieces in my wardrobe that I’ll be wearing, along with how I’ll be styling them. My hope is the rundown of summer style must-haves will help you get the most out of your wardrobe and give you some inspiration for new styles to try.

Now for my 14 Summer Style Must-Haves …

Note: Each must-have item below is linked with the item I own, followed by a few additional options at various price points.

#1 – Bathing Suit

Finding a good bathing suit that fits you well is key! I’m obsessed with the scoop neck one piece suit pictured above. The cut is practical and simple, the fit is perfect and the print is fun! It also comes in a classic bikini, if that’s more your style.

#2 – Cover-Up

I love cover-ups! There are a lot of wrap ones this season, but I really like the ones I can throw over my head and go. The one I found on Amazon this season is such a steal and comes in a ton of styles!

#3 – Layered Necklace

This is my new favorite accessory trend! I love how pretty the delicate necklaces look together. These work well with v-neck tanks or shirts and simple high-neck tops.

#4 – Leopard Sandals

I still can’t get enough of leopard. Plus, I have a true obsession with leopard print being on my feet. So it was a no-brainer to get some leopard-print sandals. The ones I got have such a nice cushion to them and the higher band keeps them from sliding off.

#5 – Graphic Tee

This is another trend I’m enjoying this summer. There are some really fun ones out there and they’re fun to style with denim shorts on the weekend.

#6 – Denim Shorts

I’ve been pretty lucky finding shorts at different price points that fit well! My white denim shorts, pictured above and below, are more expensive, but really great quality and fit true to size. The faded denim shorts, pictured below, are an amazing steal if you’re on a budget. They fit true to size but I ordered up just for a more relaxed fit.

#7 – Straw Hat

I love the straw hat I got this spring. Pictured below (and all over my Instagram!), it just has a way of spicing up my summer outfits and pulling them together. It doesn’t hurt that it keeps my face from getting too much sun either.

#8 – Midi Dress

Midi dresses are definitely having a moment right now, and I’m all about it. As someone on the taller side (5′ 8″), it is so nice to not worry if a maxi dress will be long enough. The one I’m wearing above fits true to size and could easily take you from day to night.

#9 – Striped Top

Bold, colorful stripes in the summer are my jam! I like having more casual and dressy-er options on hand too.

#10 – Straw or Basket Bag

For our spring beach trip, I found an affordable basket purse that I thought would be fun. Now, I’m surprised much it’s already been put to good use. They are perfect for the beach and summer in general! I also was in need of a new tote for work and travel, so I got one with a mix of straw and a leather bottom. It is so cute!

#11 – White Top

I know! This is as basic as it gets, but there’s no better time to be sporting a fresh white top than the summertime. I found a great light linen, pocket tee that I’ve been wearing on repeat. But, I also like to have a dressier white tank in the summer. They just go with EVERYTHING.

#12 – Woven Earrings

I am loving the look of woven statement earrings. Neutral ones will seriously work with every summer outfit you can think of.

#13 – White Jeans

This is a summer must-have you’ll wear for years to come. I wear a more straight leg for casual work outfits and skinny ones with flowy, loose tops.

#14 – Espadrille sANDALS

Last but not least, this is a pretty obvious summer must-have for me. I love heeled espadrilles, but there are some cute espadrilles that don’t have a heel. If you want something more comfortable and just as cute, I recommend these!

Phew, if you made it through my list, thank you!! Now, I would love to know. What are your summer style must-haves? Are any of them the same as mine? Let me know what you can’t stop wearing this season in the comments!

Cheers,

14 Adorable & Affordable Sandals

Adorable and Affordable Sandals Shoes for Spring and Summer - Target Sandals - SCsScoop.comClick this photo to shop my look!

Hi friends! Earlier this week, I made a Target run and stumbled across some adorable and affordable sandals that I just have to share with you! It’s a great time to stock up on some new sandals because they can easily update your spring and summer style.  I love how changing my shoes can take an outfit from day to night or work to play. The photo above shows, just how shoes can change the look of an outfit.  What’s even better, is when you find shoes that fit your budget! All of the sandals I am sharing retail for $35 or less.

Here are my fourteen favorite adorable and affordable sandals. Several of which I own and love!

The Scoop on Target’s Affordable Sandals

There are a lot of great things about Target, but if you don’t know – they have really great dupes! Their shoes look so similar and the quality has been great, in my experience. Now, I would not say it is high-end quality. They probably will not last as long as the higher end versions. But, if you are eyeing something trendy that probably won’t be popular in a couple years, then getting Target’s more affordable option is the way to go!

The strappy sandals above with a block heel are a Steve Madden-inspired, with less height in the heel. I own the Steve Madden sandal, so I tried on Target’s in-store ones to give you all a comparison. I was surprised. The Target dupe is great, and since I wore my Steve Madden pair all summer last year, I can say from experience you will love them with SO many outfits.

Also, I know the mules I shared are not technically sandals, but I am obsessed with the woven detail of them and just had to share. There are a couple pairs above that will look very familiar, if you saw my recap of what I wore in Cancun and what to wear on your next beach vacation. Both pairs I got have a nice amount of cushion, and I still can’t get over the prices.

Hopefully this recap helps you out if you are in the market for some new shoes to sport as the weather gets warmer. I would love to hear what pair you love the most and what sandals you wear the most during the summer.

Cheers!

Sarah Camille

Ultimate Spring Style Guide & Checklist

Ultimate Spring Style Guide & Checklist - SCsScoop.com

Are you anxiously waiting for flowers to bloom like I am? It’s slowly warming up in Northern Virginia, and spring is in the air! I need to update my wardrobe with a few things for spring, and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to compile a spring style guide and checklist for you all!

Spring is my second favorite season (I will always love fall the most!).  I love layering clothes and combining soft, neutral pieces with brighter bolder ones as the weather warms up!  If you are like me — love to layer clothes and are looking for some inspiration for your spring style, this checklist is for you! The items on this list will leave you with endless outfit options for spring and transitioning into summer.

Below is a checklist for you to use along with handpicked examples of each piece and style tips. Some of the items in this guide are already in my closet, while other items I am sharing are in my shopping cart because I hunted them down while I made this guide!

Ultimate Spring style Checklist

>> Shop my Spring Style Guide <<

The guide below encompasses 18 must-have pieces for a stylish spring. I purposely tried to stay away from basics that can be worn year-round. I carefully looked researched the latest trends and searched for a wide range of pieces at a range of price points and styles for you all. The first option for each item below is less than $50.

Maxi Dress

Maxi dresses are often too hot for DC’s summer humidity, so I have to get them out of my system during the spring.

Statement Earrings

There are so many fun statement earrings out right now!

Style Tip: If you aren’t sure about this trend, start with a neutral pair that is similar to your skin tone or hair color.

Snakeskin Mules

I may be biased because I just bought a pair of these, but the snakeskin trend is here to stay and I love how it looks on my mules. It’s a super sleek and easy way to spice up a plain or neutral outfit.

High-Waisted Blue Jeans

It is all about the high-waisted denim this year. There are a lot of different styles out there, but for spring, I love the flared jeans below most of all! They will look great with wedged sandals.

Jumpsuit

I wasn’t sure if I could jump (pun intended ;-)) into the jumpsuit trend for awhile. But, this year the trend is bigger than ever and I am diving in. I especially love the more dressy and flowy jumpsuits.

Style Tip: if you aren’t a fan of how the elastic waists look on some jumpsuits, wear a belt over it!

Flat Suede Booties

I love wearing suede booties in the spring, especially early in the season when you don’t want cold toes! These would all look so pretty with the denim I have shared below.

Plain Short-Sleeved Blouse

There are so many options for these in the spring! A plain blouse is perfect to pair with a trendier piece, like a patterned skirt or pants.

Jean Jacket

Jean jackets are very versatile in the spring. I love how they look paired over a maxi dress and with white or pink denim and heels!

Strappy Sandals

I am a shoe-lover through and through, but strappy sandals with a chunky heel are my favorite for spring. I found lots of colors and styles for you all!

Suede Jacket

A soft suede moto jacket is a perfect layering piece in the spring. I am also loving the less structured suede jacket linked below!

Striped Long-Sleeved Tee

This is one of those pieces everyone needs in their wardrobe, but especially for spring. I like wearing them with shorts and I wear more fitted ones with a flowy suede jacket, like the one above!

White or Pink Jeans

I am a big fan of wearing white before Memorial Day, but if you are hesitant to do so, try wearing light pink denim to freshen up your spring style.

Light, Neutral Handbag

A light, neutral handbag is a perfect accessory to freshen up any outfit in the spring! I got the grey handbag below and it has been very popular on my round up of Amazon designer dupes!

Floral Top

Because flowers and spring go hand in hand. Enough said.

Gingham Top

This is one of my all-time favorite pieces for spring. There is something timeless and classic about gingham and I think it looks good on everyone!

Striped Tank

So many options for these in the spring! I love wearing mine under a jean jacket.

Paperbag Shorts

I love these trendy shorts paired with a more fitted tank, like the ones I shared above!

Slide-on Sandals

This style of sandal is back from last year, and I am loving it. For spring, I’ll wear mine with maxi dresses and cropped jeans.

Now, I need to know. What pieces are your favorite for spring?  What items would be in your spring style guide? Share with me what you are absolutely loving for this spring!

I would love to know if there is anything else you would add to my guide, too. If you enjoyed it, check out my latest style inspiration post with lots of adorable blush pink and grey pieces to spruce up your spring wardrobe.

Cheers,

Sarah Camille
