Our Spring Wedding Highlights

Spring Wedding Highlights - April Wedding Recap - Sarah Camille's Scoop - SCsScoop.com

Our wedding was 20 days ago. Time is flying. We are settling back into reality (or trying to), and before my memory escapes me I want to share our spring wedding highlights. Will and I got married on April 28th in Middleburg, Virginia. It truly felt magical and dream-like.

Of course, there were days leading up to it when I was super stressed out and I wondered how it would come together. In the end, all the hard work and coordination of everyone involved paid off. I cannot thank enough everyone who helped me along the way or listened to me vent when I was stressed out about something. It still means so much and I appreciate it more than you know. The wedding planning process can have a lot of ups and downs, so having people support you through it is such a blessing.

First, here are a few pre-ceremony pictures.

Side note:  If you are in the throes of wedding planning, I hope these details give you some inspiration and confidence that it will all come together. I will share some advice in the coming weeks as well, but if you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment or reach out to me – seriously!

Also, I have mentioned certain vendors and products below because I truly loved working with them and their work. I did not have any obligation to mention anyone in any way. And to my vendors mentioned below – you all rock and exceeded our expectations!! We could not have asked for a better group of people to work with for our wedding.

For the ceremony, I wore Badgley Mischka (similar here) shoes I got off Poshmark. They were the last pair I could find online that were my size and had a block heel. But, right before our first dance I decided to put on a comfier and sturdier set of heels that were the same height. That was probably one of the best decisions I made that night because my feet didn’t hurt at all and they made it so easy to walk in the grass!

Now, here are some post-ceremony photos.

My Favorite Wedding Detail of the Day

It is quite hard to choose, but perhaps my favorite detail of the day was my dress. As I mentioned above, the designer was Paloma Blanca, however, I was able to get the sleeves from the wedding dress of my grandmother and namesake added to my dress. I also wore the veil that my grandmother made for my mother’s wedding day, which has also been worn by my aunt and three cousins. My grandmother passed away when I was seven, so having these pieces integrated into my wedding day look made me feel extra special and connected to her.

Beach Trip Outfit Inspiration – The Honeymoon Edition

Hi friends! It’s been a while, but I have returned. I am officially a “Mrs.” now and am settling back into the real world after our wedding and honeymoon. Will and I honeymooned in Antigua last week, right after our wedding. So, today I would like to share what I wore on our honeymoon for some beach trip outfit inspiration. The weather in Antigua was partly cloudy and had a high temperature in the low 80s every day. With the a constant beach breeze, it never felt super hot. This meant I was able to comfortably wear shorts and sleeveless tops when I wasn’t in my bathing suit – what more do you need when at the beach!?

Now, before we got to Antigua, we had an unplanned detour in Miami due to a flight delay. We were happy to stay in Miami for a day and get some relaxing pool time in. Thankfully our airline and hotel in Antigua pushed our travel arrangements back so our trip was not shortened. The outfit below I wore in Miami after some pool time and right before venturing to South Beach. My light pink crossbody bag from Sole Society has been a favorite piece of mine this spring. It was perfect for traveling as well since it does not take up much room and the blush shade goes with everything!

Once in Antigua, my main outfit was a bathing suit with a cover-up since we were on the beach or a boat everyday. The resort we stayed at required more dressy attire for dinner, so I wore the floral dress below from Lulus. I got this dress specifically for our honeymoon and I loved how the colors mimicked all the bright flowers that bloom in Antigua.

If you are interested in Will’s outfit details, you can find everything listed here. Below are a few other favorite pieces I wore during our honeymoon and travels. I like to keep my beach trip outfits pretty simple so mixing and matching for different looks takes a minimal effort. The floral sweatshirt linked below is a major favorite. It is so cozy and was perfect for the plane rides.

My Beach Trip Outfit Necessities

Now that I am back in D.C. I cannot wait for summer weather so I can wear these items again. Do you have any go-to beach trip outfits or pieces you love for beach vacations? What did you wear on your honeymoon? Whether you are beach-bound or not, I would love to hear about the new outfits you have picked out for spring or upcoming summer vacations.

Cheers!

Bachelorette Party Outfit & Ladies Weekend in South Carolina

Bachelorette Party Outfit & Ladies Weekend in South Carolina SCsScoop.com

Hello friends! It has been a little longer than I would have liked since my last post, but my bachelorette weekend at the beach is partially to blame. It was definitely a good reason to be distracted from blogging! Before I get back into my blogging rhythm, I thought I’d share my thoughts on bachelorette parties, some highlights of the ladies weekend in South Carolina and my Bachelorette Party outfit. Spoiler Alert: I have an awesome new pair of knock-off designer pumps for you all!

First, let’s talk about bachelorette parties. Honestly, I was unsure about the necessity of a bachelorette Party or weekend. I do not have a sister who would likely take the lead on planning and I did not want to ask anyone to plan something for me or feel like a burden. Then, one of my good friends and bridesmaid offered to plan it all. I am so glad and grateful that she did!!

While a bachelorette party is not truly necessary, it was such a fun and valuable time to be with some of my closest and sweetest girlfriends. In the midst of all the wedding planning stress, our weekend offered me not just a break but a great reminder of the amazing people I have in my life. I am already reminiscing about what a special time it was.

To any brides to be out there who are contemplating whether or not to do a bachelorette party – GO FOR IT! This time only comes around once, so you should not hesitate to enjoy it and live it up. The truth is – bachelorette parties do not need to be an extensive or complicated production. As long as you are with friends and family that care about you, that is all that matters. You can decide to have a big sleepover at someone’s place, do a roadtrip or plan a big weekend in Las Vegas. As long as you are doing things you like with the people you like, you will have a blast!

Bachelorette Weekend in South Carolina

For my bachelorette weekend, we ventured to the coast of South Carolina for a long weekend. Most of the time we were near a small coastal town called Georgetown. Once we arrived on Friday, we did a walk along the beach, picked up barbecue for dinner and stayed up late playing Cards Against Humanity. On Saturday, we visited the Hopsewee Plantation and explored Georgetown after getting some lunch.

That afternoon we got ready to head into Charleston for some fun! We hopped on a party bus and enjoyed some games and drinks as we headed to dinner at the Darling Oyster Bar. Dinner was delicious and the service and ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for a Bachelorette Party. We went to a bar after dinner and did a little dancing before heading home. On Sunday, we slept in and ate breakfast burritos. We also went to a painting and sipping place in Georgetown before a tasty dinner and Olympics-viewing.

Bachelorette Party Outfit

After trying a couple dresses that did not work, I was unsure of what I was going to wear on Saturday night. I managed to pull a few things together in my closet. One thing I knew I would wear were my new pumps. These shoes are knock-offs of Valentino’s Rockstud heels. They look super similar and are a fraction of the cost. I decided to get these after reading all the positive reviews on Amazon. The maker of these shoes also has several other cute knock-off shoes that I am eyeing!

Did you have a bachelorette party before you got married? Have you been a part of a fun bachelorette party? Tell me all about it and what you wore. I would love to hear your thoughts on bachelorette parties in general too.

Cheers!

Sarah Camille
