The Perfect Trend for your Date Night

This is the perfect trend for your next date night. Get outfit details on the blog!
A friend once told me that there’s a somewhat unexpected body part of women that men find attractive. My first thought was, well maybe men just find all parts of women attractive!? Ha! But then I was surprised to hear that this body part was shoulders. I never thought of my shoulders as being attractive, but maybe this friend was on to something.

Two of the hot trends this summer – off-the-shoulder (OTS) & cold shoulder tops – reveal the shoulder area in a sexy way, and I must say, I’m on board with this trend! The cold shoulder is my personal favorite because I find they can be just as sexy and often more flattering than the OTS look. If you have broad shoulders or shoulders wider than your hips, it can be more difficult to pull off an OTS top. If you’re busty, like to move your arms a lot when you talk (pointing at myself!) or have small kids OTS tops can also not be very practical. Don’t get me wrong I love OTS tops, but if I’m picking one over the other, give me a little cold shoulder any day!

Now that I’ve shared the reasoning behind my love of the cold-shoulder look, this brings me to a recent date night look that’s perfect for summer. This cold shoulder tank is so soft and comfortable. The ruffled overlay around my chest is so flattering as well, and I love how it crosses in the back. Paired with my all-time favorite jeans and peep toe booties, I felt so ready for a night out with Will. The clutch I wore is also a favorite for date night. There’s something about the fringe that makes me feel extra fun and flirty!

Get the look:

Top: BP (Super similar; similar & $10!)

Jeans: Hudson Nico Skinny Jean

Booties: Vince Camuto Kensa Bootie

Clutch: Diane Von Furstenberg – on sale!  (Super similar)

Do you agree that shoulders are attractive?! Are you enjoying the cold shoulder trend this year? I’d love to know if you agree with any of my gripes about the OTS trend not being very practical. Is there another trend you’re obsessing over this summer? Tell me all about it in the comments

Cheers!

Go-To Inexpensive Jewelry for Any Occasion

Hi friends!

How is your week going? Personally, I can’t believe it is only Tuesday. Is it just me?! It just feels like SO much has already happened. Anyway, I promise I won’t start babbling!

I am often asked about my jewelry, so I wanted to share with you all my go-to favorites that I have been wearing often to accessorize my looks. I wear most of these pieces at least once a week, so many of you have probably seen them on Instagram. As you’ll see below, my three favorite brands for inexpensive jewelry are BaubleBar, J.Crew Factory and Kendra Scott.

Kendra Scott Elton Station Cuff Bracelet, $55 | J.Crew Crystal Bubbles Necklace, $25 | Kendra Scott ‘Rayne’ Stone Tassel Pendant Necklace, $80

BaubleBar Ion Cuff, $35 | Kendra Scott Robyn Stacking Rings, $55

Madewell Mon Petit Pavé Ring, $15 | Kendra Scott ‘Carole’ Semiprecious Stone Pendant Necklace, $90 | BaubleBar Oracle Drop Earrings, $34 | J.Crew Fireball Stud Earrings, $11

Kate Spade New York ‘idiom – heart of gold’ bangle, $35 | BaubleBar Piñata Tassel Earrings, $38 | J.Crew Factory Crystal Basketweave Bracelet, $14

J.Crew Factory Chevron Pendant Necklace, $35 | Madewell Double Double Ring, $18

If I was forced to pick my favorite of all these items is my Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace. I have it in a translucent purple, and it truly looks great year round. While I haven’t seen this color available in a long time, I’d recommend one of the translucent colors. They have a way of complimenting your top perfectly, by picking up on the shade behind it.

Do you have similar pieces you accessorize with? Are any of my go-to pieces catching your eye? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Here’s to the rest of the week zooming by!

Cheers!!

Springtime Fashion Favorites

I know it has only been spring for a couple weeks now, but there are a few items I have on repeat that are definitely worth sharing with you all. Floral prints, anything army green with comfy and cute peep toe booties are must-haves this season, and these items are my favorites.

Flow-y, Floral Tops

Pleione Ruffled Peplum Back Top, $42

Kut from the Kloth Floral Print Blouse, $68

Halogen Layered Look Print Top, $42

Army Green Vests

Pleione Twill Military Vest, $88

Levi’s Parachute Cotton Vest, $90

Neutral Peep-Toe Booties

Vince Camuto Kensa Peep Toe Bootie, $150

Vince Camuto Lidie Cutout Bootie Sandal, $119

I have worn my Levi’s vest multiple times, and even wore it when I got engaged a couple weekends ago. It’s a perfect layering piece for cool spring days or nights and it looks great with long or short sleeve tees. You can also pair this with a fitted tank and skinny jeans during a cool summer night. This vest isn’t very thick, so it is a nice change from my down vests which are better for winter and late fall.

The floral peplum top by Pleione is so trendy and versatile. I wore it to a concert, brunch and work in less than a week. That’s when I know something is my new favorite! The Kensa bootie by Vince Camuto has also been worn over and over lately. And every time I wear them, I get both compliments and feet that do not hurt. It’s a win-win!

Do you have similar items in your closet that are on repeat? Or are you sporting something totally different for spring? I’d love to hear all about it.

Cheers to tomorrow being Friday!!
