As soon as winter’s dry, cold air sets in my skin knows exactly what to do! If I do not take proper care of my skin, it gets extra dry and even starts peeling. It is not pretty! Now, that is what happens if I don’t do anything to prevent this terrible reaction from occurring. So without further ado, here are the key ingredients to keep skin moisturized all winter. I first talked about ways to keep your skin moisturized back in 2018. While many of the tips in that post remain true for me today, I have some updates from the past few winters. I honestly feel like my skin has never felt this hydrated in the winter and I think it’s because of a few changes and things in particular. So, here are my winter skincare tips to boost hydration for the whole season.
Here we are. It's 2022. I know… It's been 2022 for a few weeks now, but I feel like after our chaotic, unexpected Christmas (spent sick and stuck at home) and then our delayed Christmas trip this past week, the New Year is still sinking in for me. At the beginning of January, I was honestly mentally exhausted and not feeling very positive about the year ahead. But the family time and change of scenery we got this past week gave me some designated time to reflect on the past year and think about my hopes and intentions for the year ahead. It's strange to see where I was this time last year... and how much has changed, but also stayed the same. The effects of the pandemic continue to be frustrating and draining, and I don't know about you but I still yearn for things to feel more normal and settled. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about the circumstances of the world. So, I am choosing to focus on the things I can nurture this year -- my health and wellbeing and my family's. But, before I dive into my intention for 2022, I want to share a little insight into how the past year has been.
Let's talk about boundaries. I've heard and seen the topic of setting work boundaries come up a lot in the past few years. It's funny to think about when I entered the workforce, how the thought of "setting boundaries" was almost unheard of. Was it because fewer people were glued to their phones and taking work home with them? Was it because we know better now? Maybe it is a combination of these factors. What I do know is that somewhere in between getting married, going through a pandemic and having a child, setting work boundaries became not just something to strive for, but a necessity. I brought up a real example of my coworker's work boundary (see the email signature below) on Instagram recently, and it sparked A LOT of comments from you all. So, today I am sharing those and more about my journey with work boundaries.
