Get the Look: Red Dress for less than $100

Can you believe we are less than one week until Christmas? If you are looking for an affordable and fabulous dress for a Christmas party, I’d put aside that always dependable black dress and consider going with a red dress for that perfect pop of festive flair.

Similar to the token “little black dress,” a red dress is a staple piece that all women should own. But, a red dress serves a different purpose. It’s a way to make a statement, standout and bring a spark of fun to the environment. My favorite red dresses are simple and classic, with a twist. Here are a few red dresses that are great for a range of body types.

1. Felicity & Coco Ruffle Sheath Dress, $98

2. Tahari Seamed A-Line Dress, $64

3. Modcloth A-Line Dress, $60

4. Lulu’s Red Midi Dress, $46

The Felicity & Coco sheath dress has a great cut for a straight and narrow figure. The Tahari and Modcloth A-line dresses are a flattering cut for curvy, petite and athletic figures. The Lulu’s dress is also a nice option to play up your curves.

Recently, I wore a red dress for Thanksgiving dinner. I opted for a thick cotton A-line dress from LOFT. I paired it with sheer black tights, a pair of my favorite Dolce Vita booties, a sparkly J.Crew Factory necklace and a scarf from Zara.

While this exact dress is no longer available, the Tahari dress pictured above is very similar. What I like most about a style like this is that it can easily be dressed up or down for fancy or casual affairs. The dress and sleeve length also allow it to be easily worn across seasons.

Hopefully the pieces I have shared will help you out this holiday season or for future festivities. If you have a favorite red dress, I’d love to hear about it.

Cheers!
